Brian Greenwood, Professor of Tropical Medicine at The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, discusses the presentation he gave to the 5th Multilateral Initiative On Malaria (MIM) Pan African Malaria Conference, Nairobi, Kenya, held 2-6 November, 2009, in which he explained that combining prophylactic with therapeutic use of malarial drugs can play an important part in programmes for control of malaria.
