For patients with metastatic colorectal cancer who have failed prior oxaliplatin therapy, cetuximab plus irinotecan could be the best treatment. This is according to a study that randomly assigned patients to irinotecan with or without cetuximab. Gregory Wolf told conference delegates at the Chemotherapy Foundation Symposium that clinical responses to a novel agent have been reported from Mexico, and that his group is now testing the same agent (IRX-II) in pilot studies.
