PARIS—The fifth in an annual series of multi-sector Worldwide Innovative Networking (WIN) symposia — dedicated to the advancement of personalised medicine — was held here from July 10th to 12th to promote international collaboration between networks of communicating scientists and doctors to advance cancer science and save lives by improving implementation of clinical advances.
Ahead of the meeting Peter Goodwin asked WIN Consortium Chairman: John Mendelsohn MD, Director of the Khalifa Institute for Personalized Cancer Therapy and Past President University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, how the 2013 WIN Symposium has brought together individual medical bodies — working in different countries and a variety of sectors — to improve efficiencies between departments and provide personalised approaches to cancer treatment by using better networks of cooperating patient advocacy groups, technologists, pharmaceutical industries and government institutions to conduct research and share ideas and developments.
