Reduced Meat Consumption means Reduced Climate Change and Better Health

There is a need to reduce the global consumption of meat in order to reduce climate change and improve health according to the Energy and Health series published by the Lancet. An average global reduction in meat consumption of just 10% will stop the emission of green house gases associated with livestock production from rising as well as reduce health risks associated with consumption of red meat. Nicola Solomon spoke to John Powles.

Car-Free Cities To Cut Early Mortality By One Third?

Entire cities should become car free and as a result cut mortality in early middle age by around a third. That’s according to study results released by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and published in a series on the health impact of energy policies in the Lancet. Peter Goodwin questioned investigator James Woodcock about the findings.
