Primary PCI is even more effective for treating myocardial infarction if a drug-eluting stent is used. That’s the finding from the French TYPHOON study just announced in Atlanta. The results show that a sirolimus eluting stent cut the incidence of major adverse cardiac events after one year by half. Christian Spaulding talked to Sarah Maxwell at the ACC conference.
